WAVE featured Robert Been & Peter Hayes (B.R.M.C.) on vocals, bass & guitar with Chris Streng (Stratford 4, Mount Whateverest) on vocals & guitar and Ari Schaeffer on drums.
We recorded this album in one night approximately 20 years ago in Marin County. We played some of San Francisco's diviest dives- usually either the Cocodrie, the Purple Onion or some random raves in East Oakland. After WAVE broke up, Robert & Peter formed the BRMC with Nick Jago on drums and they were instrumental in connecting Streng with what would become the Stratford 4. Ari Schaefer still lives, paints and drums in Marin County and has been completely obsessed with this record ever since it was made.
Maybe we were ahead of our time- after all, the present tense itself is a reissue for a band from the future.
Enjoy this album! Disseminate it- make copes for your friends- it's languished on a single CD-R for far too long.
